so it's been a while since i wrote anything, again. I feel so ashamed at my poor dedication to this blog....I AM SORRIES!!! ok just kidding, but since nobody actually reads my posts I guess it's okay to write as if I'm a little kid crying of how upset I am with myself. lol. well in actual news, nothing has happened, but the fact that I got a 1740 on the SAT and I'm expecting my scores for a practice test. I successfully learned how to play Intermission by Panic! at the Disco completely and accurately, so I'm proud of that. & I can't think of anything else to say besides the fact all is well and I'm super pumped for the tennis season that started a while ago & that SPRING IS FINALLY HERE! whoo! But for some apparent reason, winter has grown so attached to us that it still doesn't want to leave. But yea....that's all i can think of for now....so laters. XD

So it's Sunday. Ugh. Why? There's no point for today to be Sunday. It should be Friday. I still haven't done any of my homework, I need to make up old assignments, I didn't go to church, I didn't draw anything, I didn't practice piano, and I didn't do chores during the whole weekend. So overall, I just wasted 3 days. And yet, I'm expected to go to school tomorrow and then have another day off on Tuesday. What's the point of going tomorrow then? Stupid people.

So like, my weekend wasn't so great. Friday I came from school and did nothing, but sleep. Then I woke up early to go to SING to work on our backdrops for the show. When I got home, I did the usual: sleep. So my Saturday was wasted as well, and though I planned to wake up early today to do all my work, I slept in 'til noon. Then I started procrastinating with drawing grids on paint, reblogging photos on tumblr, writing about my parents and kpop, and facebook. Everyone probably knows what that's like. So here I am, doing nothing, but writing about how I spent my weekend doing nothing and standing on the brink of going insane if I can't finish my homework before I get kicked off the computer. Eh. T_T I guess I should start now.

So as a so called teenager in the 21st century, I have actually been caught up on some things, and I have to say I am ashamed that I haven't written on my blog in 7 months. Even though I only have one follower (T_T), I still wish to write as much as I can. My excuse for my absence for the past 7 months? Tumblr. Yes, I'm sorry I have turned to another blog, but it seems as if it's much easier, entertaining, addicting, and social. But don't worry, my blogspot still has value so I will continue to write, though I feel like if I have more to write here. =)

Well, I must continue procrastinating and sleeping, so I'll leave this here for now with a few photos of my old class ring I took yesterday on my way home from school. The colors of my chullo really caught my attention so I decided to use it as my background. =P

A Just War?

so its been like so long since i've posted anything so here's just a short essay (yes, i call it short) that i wrote for my english class.

When in war, people believe that their war is just, if not, then they wouldn't be fighting at all. I believe that there is such thing as a just war, but not all wars are just, but simply exaggerated reactions to disagreements that aren't serious or worthy to fight for. A war can be just if two groups or individuals are extremely determined to achieve or gain something that is valuable enough for violence to be used in order to reach that goal. Another reason why a war can be considered just is by the idea from Hammurabi's Code with the belief of “an eye for an eye” in which a group is greatly devastated from an attack of another and the only way to bring justice is by equally attacking during a war. A war can be physical, verbal, or mental, and therefore, under any circumstance, a war can become just depending on how a person or group may respond to an attack in a war, but both forces must also have the same capability to fight. Unfortunately, some people don’t take the consideration to make wise decisions when immediately reacting to attacks, and therefore some wars are simply pointless during all battles.

Many times in life, people hear of wars between countries, companies and businesses, groups of people, and individuals that seem worthless, ridiculous, and often ruthless. This, in reality, is something true as a result of how one responds in war. Throughout the years, we have witnessed great and strong warriors, soldiers, fighters, leaders, or whatever you wish to call them, but as always, there have also been inexperienced, weak, immature, and unprepared people sent to take the same responsibilities as those that are admired in war. Fighters that are strong, brave, and noble, are fully prepared in the battlefield with wise tactics and strategies for attacks, resulting in well-driven, well-fought, just wars, and many times, victory. If those who are not as great as some of these leaders do not learn and follow the examples set by these fighters, then there is a large chance that they won't have any just wars at all.

For centuries, man has lived in some sort of argument with others, leading to some sort of war, usually verbal among the simplest of disagreements. Unfortunately, in order to win an advantage in one’s position in war, some forces or people decide to start massive attacks on the opposing side, causing extreme distress, setbacks, and destruction. The attacked side should then have the right to attack in a way that the opposing side will be equally affected, but rather than being too ruthless, one must attack in a manner that is somewhat moral. By psychologically attacking the other side, not only would one satisfy the idea of “an eye for an eye,” but avoid the guilt of cruelly killing or destroying some thing physically and with one’s own hands. With this ideal, one is bringing justice and doing so in an ethical way. It is in cases similar to this that a war can also be considered just.

When two opposing forces are constantly fighting for a worthy cause, then their war is just. A war in which two forces are fighting under the idea of Hammurabi’s code, they are also fighting with determination of surviving and protecting something valuable. In many cases, family, a nation, love, economy, and other prized possessions are things of great value and worthiness in which one may fight for. By setting one’s mind in reaching a goal as in protecting something of such value, then by fighting for that goal, a war is just. Not only can a war be just by having a constant mind set on persevering in achieving something in war, but by doing so, one can demonstrate strong and inspiring strategies in war and equally defend oneself while bringing justice to those who may have attacked and hurt you.

It's been a while since i wrote anything, but then again, i never actually wrote anything. Like many people of this world, i live to try to join as many clubs, websites, forums, etc, and simply be a part of anything and everything. The actual question is: what is the actual purpose of doing all of this? Anything you write will be forgotten, even if some reads it or not and has a laugh, sheds a tear, or thinks about how useless something seems to be.

Joining social networks seems pointless if one doesn't socialize with every one of your "friends." If you don't socialize with your "friends," then some might not consider then your friends, while those you do socialize with seem to share so much with you in interests and conversations, but do they really have so much in common? Shouldn't be one's interests be like their DNA? Completely different from others' since we all enjoy different things and have a completely different point of view on things though they might seem to be the same. So in reality we have nothing in common with others, and therefore when "socializing" with "friends" your basically living in confusion for you believe you have the same interest or point of view as others, and though some may say "opposites attract" why do we socialize with those we believe we relate to rather than those that are opposite from us? Many respond by saying that you have more things to talk about if people share a common interest, but since technically no one shares the same interest or point of view, there is nothing to talk about, therefore we have no actual friends. Therefore every person is a lonesome person. We all live in loneliness and confusion. If you wonder why we live in confusion, since you took the time to read this, take the time to reread it and see if you truly understand what you read or if you are confused, just as every other person that "exists" in this world. If you claim that you understand what you just read, take the time to look around you and analyze everything to see if you actually understand anything at all, and you most likely end up in confusion and eventually forget what was the original purpose of everything. This is when this post will be forgotten and left here for someone else to be confused. =)

Live at Rock the Sound

As I had previously written about, last night I was among the many people to go to Rock the Sound: NYC with CAsting Crowns, Unspoken, Shane & Shane, and Caleb Rowden. To tell you the truth, that concert was SIMPLY AWESOME! lol. People of all ages were there enjoying the music, singing along, and best of all, worshipping God in one great voice. And not speak anymore, here are the few pictures I took & some of the videos I was able to record. XD

Rock the Sound

This weekend will be one of the most exciting throughout this summer! If you're all wondering why, it's because of the NYC Rock the Sound Music Festival that will be held in Manhattan Center Studios. Today was the first day of this big event and sadly I missed the performances by Newsboys (with Michael Tait as their new lead singer), the Afters, Superchick, and Phil Whickam. Luckily tomorrow there will be 3 other shows with Jeremy Camp, Casting Crowns, and RED as the main headliners. Hopefully I will attend one of these shows and enjoy a great spiritual and musical evening...lol xP

Okay, those that know me personally know that I usually come around obsessing over a band constantly. I usually hear a new song by a band and if I like it i start looking info & more songs from that and until a new band comes along. Eventually, I hear of the group again & begin obsessing and freaking over ever new song or info I hear (I know. Weird, right?) Well beginning this week I will write about two bands: 1 that I'm currently reminiscing memories of & starting to obsess over & a new band that I am now listening to for the first time.

I'm now listening to Switchfoot NONSTOP. I am a HUGE fan of them, but sadly its been about 6 months since I've listened to their songs. Switchfoot is made up of brothers Jon & Tim Foreman, Chad Butler, Jerome Fontamillas, and Drew Shirley. This week I've seriously been obsessing a bit xP Nothing is Sound & The Beautiful Letdown are currently the albums I have on repeat. Most people have heard of Switchfoot & they're seriously a great band. Many of their songs have been featured in A Walk to Remember, Spiderman, The Chronicles of Narnia, and several commercials, so if you say you never heard their songs, here are some songs you might recognize:

Though I've heard of the band, surprisingly I haven't heard any of their songs. This week's new band is Delirious? I don't know much about them, so sadly I have no info to write about them at the moment (I will edit this). The song I am basically attached to now is. Luckily I will be attending Greg Laurie's Harvest '09 (more info to come) on June 13 & 14, where Delirious? will perform. For 39 years, people today are taking their time to work together to help our planet & save our ecosystem. As we've seen over the years, our planet Earth has been suffering from pollution, acid rain, global warming, wildfires, and other similar problems. Eventually, this can lead to the extinction of all organisms, but WE CAN make a difference to help our planet & help all these species on the edge of extinction. Any way is a good way to help, whether it's simply planting a tree, recycling, or even riding a bike to work. Help out as much as you can to be & live greener.

YouTube Symphony Orchestra at Carnegie Hall

As a teenage girl from Brooklyn, I'm not usually surprised to hear about several orchestras performing in New York, but hearing about Youtube Symphony Orchestra was one of the most exciting things I had ever heard of.

Last night, my parents and I were among what seemed to be millions of people that had come to support this project. It was an amazing event including videos of several of the musicians and recognized people, such as Lang Lang and Yo-Yo Ma. In addition to listening to the numerous pieces conducted by Michael Tilson Thomas, we heard Tan Dun's Internet Symphony No.1: Eroica conducted by Tan Dun himself, Lang Lang's students Anna Larsen, Charlie Li, and Derek Wang had a lovely performance of a Valse from Two Pieces for Piano by Rachmaninoff, and Yuja Wang also played two pieces on piano. Several other musicians also joined YTSO in this performance, making this one of the best performances for this year.

Youtube and Google have shown the world how we all are united when showing our love and passion through music. Like Kurt Hinterbichler stated in his introduction video, YouTube could have created the first YouTube basketball team, but instead they created a ensemble of inspirational musicians from multiple countries around the world to share their talents and dedication of music and show it to the rest of the world. This is clearly one of the best things that I, and many other people, have experienced.
